WJ has extensive experience in installing, test pumping and permanent pumping water supply boreholes. WJ use both rotary and cable percussion drill rigs and have the capability to install wells of up to 450 mm finished bore and up to 150 m deep.
Following installation, well development is essential to maximise performance. WJ offers a range of development techniques including airlift, jetting, surge blocks and acidisation (in chalk). These techniques can also be deployed where rehabilitation of an old supply well is needed.
WJ can advise on well specification, development and testing regimes to meet any required performance criteria, and can liaise with the Environment Agency or other statutory authorities to obtain any necessary approvals or licenses.
